The Gelato Vero brand of gelatos and sorbettos was established by Henry Rabinowitz in San Diego in 1984. We use only the freshest ingredients in our base mix and only the finest nuts, fruits, chocolates and extracts for our gelatos and sorbets.

Gelato Vero Caffé has been an gathering place and cultural hub in San Diego for the last 30 years. Our talented baristas serve organic locally-roasted coffee and espresso from Caffé Calabria and fine loose teas from Cafe Moto.
Gelato Vero is famous for our version of traditional Indian chai tea made in-house with certified organic spices and fair trade teas and for our gelato based espresso drinks like the Verocinno Frosty and Espresso con Gelato.
We offer a variety of fresh baked goods and decadent deserts to accompany our gelato and coffee such as house-made mexican chocolate biscotti as well as buttery croissants and rich lava cake.
Chef Kirstin Green has developed a menu of decadent, healthful, predominantly vegetarian plates made whenever possible with the very best local, seasonal and organic products. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 2 pm on our remodeled upstairs patio which enjoys lovely views and ocean breezes.
